Health and safety

This week, Form 5 has been taking part in two important themed weeks: Mental Health Week and Internet Safety Week.

As part of Mental Health Week, the children have been thinking about the importance of kindness and the feeling of belonging. Each child was secretly given the name of a classmate and encouraged to carry out random acts of kindness for them throughout the week. From thoughtful compliments to small helpful gestures, Form 5 embraced the challenge with care and enthusiasm. On Friday, the mystery will be revealed as we find out who was looking out for whom. The class have also spent time discussing what it means to belong and why feeling accepted and valued is so important in school and beyond.

In computing, Internet Safety Week has focused on the rise of artificial intelligence. The children explored different ways AI might appear in their lives, such as chatbots, recommendation systems and voice assistants. They considered how to stay safe and make smart choices when interacting with new technology, especially when the boundaries between real and computer-generated content can be hard to spot. Their questions and curiosity have sparked thoughtful discussion and helped develop their digital awareness.
