I spy with my little eye
09 Oct 2026In Science, the children used their eyes and a mirror to observe how their pupils changed when the light was turned on and off.
They then enjoyed a fun game where they had to guess which animals the different eyes belonged to.
The children had lots of fun using the Bee-Bots this week. They learned how to programme the Bee-Bots using the commands forwards, backwards, left and right. They enjoyed developing their sequencing and problem-solving skills as they navigated their Bee-Bots.
In Maths this week, the children made 3D shapes using plasticine and discussed their properties after constructing them. They confidently used mathematical vocabulary such as faces, edges and vertices. The children then went on a 3D shape hunt around the school and it was amazing to see how many different 3D shapes they spotted in their surroundings. Form 2 then went on to learn about the days of the week and the months of the year.
The children also learned about George Stephenson and his important contribution to the development of the steam train. They enjoyed designing their own steam trains, working collaboratively and sharing ideas with one another. At the end of the lesson, the children proudly discussed their creations and explained their designs.
