Practical activities
06 Dec 2024Form 4 have had an enjoyable week full of practical activities.
They began by removing the eggshells from the liquids they had placed them in last week. They quickly realised that acidic liquids will damage teeth and were amazed that the shells in vinegar had completely collapsed.
They then had a go at recreating their digestive system on a t-shirt with the help of Gertrude (our human body model). They tried to place everything carefully and get the sizing correct. The results were very impressive.
They also completed lots of practical measuring tasks in maths and looked at longer lengths by using Google Maps.
In English, they are continuing a rhyming poem all about a sprout. It has a repetitive line and a clear rhythm to help, but they realised that there aren't that many words that rhyme with sprout!
