Problem-solving skills

Form 5 have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of orienteering activities during Humanities Week.

The children competed individually, enjoying the competitive nature of the challenges while testing not only their fitness but also their map reading and problem-solving skills. Here our top four finishers show what place they finished the challenge in.

The class have also begun researching the life and achievements of Sir David Attenborough following his recent 100th birthday. They are preparing a whole school assembly celebrating his work as a broadcaster and natural historian, as well as the huge impact he has had on raising awareness of the natural world and environmental issues. Form 5 are looking forward to sharing their learning about such an inspiring figure with the rest of the school.

In French, Form 5 is learning about the names of various places, while paying careful attention to the feminine and masculine indefinite articles; une or un. They mimed out some actions for locations and the rest of the children enjoyed guessing the place.

Congratulations to the Form 5 pupil who was nominated by her football team for the Otford Kirsch Cup... and then won it! It is awarded to a promising local sportsperson who has made a valuable contribution to any village recreational activity.
