Shopping and engineering
26 Jun 2026The children have worked extremely hard on their division facts and they played a game with a partner using their 2, 5 and 10 division knowledge.
They loved playing interactive games and it caused a lot of excitement to hit the button to beat their top scores. They also enjoyed making up a bar chart of their choice. Collecting the data was challenging as they had to ensure that they asked everyone in F2 to achieve an accurate result. The children made their own shop and they enjoyed shopping in each shop, paying with real coins.
During English, they wrote a letter to Mrs Flower about themselves. They wrote about their hobbies, favourite subject at school and things they enjoy. The children enjoyed acting out adverbs and they wrote a few funny sentences for their friends to act out too.
In art, the children used their sketchbooks to design a picture using different textures for the background. They then drew different plants and creatures to compose a lovely summer picture.
During humanities, the children learned more about Isambard Kingdom Brunel. They were fascinated with his life story and they enjoyed learning about some of his engineering ideas. They constructed some well-designed bridges in a group using limited resources. They worked cooperatively and they produced some excellent bridges. Great engineering, Form 2!
