Sunny season
20 Mar 2026Spring has finally arrived and the Nursery children have loved continuing to learn about and look out for all the seasonal changes.
Our favourite activity for our Spring theme was drawing plants. We watched a calming video of different types of flowers, looked at the colours and shapes, and used different resources to create our own. The children all thought really hard about the marks they were making and created some beautiful masterpieces!
We also went to the library this week. We returned our old books and chose a whole bag full of new ones! The children all loved the walk down through the village, spotting the beautiful flowers and places they knew on the way.
Tuesday was St Patrick's Day. The children learnt some facts about why Saint Patrick is celebrated, and even tried to learn an Irish Jig! The next day, we learnt about Eid and are looking forward to making some moon and star-shaped biscuits to celebrate. Nursery children are doing very well remembering and recalling facts about all the different festivals.
After watching the Form 4 rehearsal of their play 1066, the children were very interested in kings, knights and castles. They have used the small world set up to role-play parts of the play, even remembering some of the kings' names.
Their favourite part of the week was our Easter Egg Hunt. Working as a team, we managed to collect all of the eggs that were hidden around the pirate ship, and in return were rewarded with a real chocolate egg!
Next week we will be reading a variety of stories and learning all about Easter. Wishing you all a lovely weekend!
