Tales of the lake

It was Form 6's class assembly on Tuesday this week and the children shared their experiences of their trip to Norfolk Lakes.

It was clear for all to see that they all had a brilliant time and that the GSUP (giant stand-up paddleboards) and the food were their highlights of the week! They had the rest of the school in laughter with their stories of pushing each other into the lake, capsizing the teachers' canoe and finding insects and frogs.

In English, Form 6 has begun some creative writing, based on a short clip about a boy and a marshmallow-loving monster. They shared their ideas about the setting, the monster and the boy and they came up with some wonderful writing. Here are just some of their ideas from our shared writing:

Arising from the murky depths of the lagoon was a dangerous, mould-green creature from every child’s deepest nightmare. The luminous moon was the only source of light in the pitch black sky and darkness swirled around the little log fire like a long, dark cape. The boy turned around slowly, sensing there was something or someone behind him...

In athletics, the children have loved developing their relay skills outside on the field. In teams of four, they have sprinted around the track and worked hard to ensure that they are using the most efficient handover of the relay baton.
