Up on the stage
08 Dec 2023It’s been a show-biz week in Transition, jam packed with our Christmas play dress rehearsal, the real performance and getting to watch lots of other Christmas performances from around the school.
On Monday Transition thoroughly enjoyed getting to watch Form 3’s Christmas Performance, Santa and the Beanstalk. The Transition children were captivated by the fantastic singing, acting and dancing. Well done Form 3!
By Tuesday, it was our turn to be up on the stage. After watching the brilliant Robins and Nursery performance, nervous tummies were starting to kick in, but we were ready to show off all the children’s hard work and very excited to get to be in the costumes. All the children did a wonderful job at remembering their lines, speaking slowly and clearly and singing beautifully. It was very exciting when we got a huge applause from the school after our dress rehearsal.
Feeling even more excited by Wednesday, it was time to perform in front of family and friends! I’m sure you will all agree that the children did a fantastic job and each and every child shone in their own way on the stage. We are so proud of you in Transition and are so pleased that you enjoyed your big moment.
Please see our Facebook Page for more photographs of the performance.
The Christmas plays weren’t quite over yet though! We had the joy of watching the Form 2 performance on Thursday afternoon, which was equally magical. Well done Form 2, lots of fantastic singing and storytelling.
Aside from Christmas plays, we have been enjoying some time in the classroom choosing Christmas activities during our free play. Decorating Christmas trees by painting with cotton buds was a big hit and led to some experimentation with colour mixing! We have also had some lovely transient art baubles and stockings being created. The children had fun using the iPad to take a picture of their creations before putting the pieces back ready for somebody else to have a turn. We are well underway with our Christmas card and Christmas craft decorations ready to be taken home next week.
We also had placed a special order with Mrs Nelson for some new You Choose books, which have been very popular with the children during their morning quiet reading time. Thank you for ordering these for us, Mrs Nelson!
