We are proud of you

It has been a week to feel proud of our Form 7 class. Our newly formed team of School Council and Prefects took the limelight on Monday and Tuesday. Our Prefects were invited up in assembly to receive their shiny new badges and the School Council attended their first meeting with Mr McCarthy in the Headmaster’s Study.

On these same days, the children of Form 7 also introduced themselves to their new Form 1 buddies for the year. It was an exciting occasion and the Form 1s were delighted to be joined by Form 7 for playtime, where they particularly seemed to enjoy a game of duck, duck, goose.

The theme of the latter days of the week for Form 7 became about challenging themselves. On Thursday, the Kent Test took place in the Form 6 and 7 classrooms. We are very proud of all of the children that took the test and whatever the outcome may be, we know that they have given it their all.

After the focus and exertions of Thursday, a rather different sort of challenge was bestowed upon our Form 7s as they visited Chessington. At the start of the day, Mr McCarthy asked them to not just have fun but to also think about how they could push themselves out of their comfort zones and take a risk. He was certainly not disappointed by their efforts.

Next week our attention turns to the first sporting fixtures of the calendar. On Wednesday, our boys are due to play football against Hilden Oaks at home whilst our girls travel to play hockey away at Lingfield College. Please could all parents make sure that their children have the correct kit, including a full tracksuit in school.
