On Sunday 3rd December, our U11 Mixed Team and our U11 Boys Team took part in the first regional British Schools Gymnastics Association competition of the year. The U11 Mixed Team competed first, in round 8, followed by the Boys Team in round 9. Our gymnasts had to complete an individual floor routine, a group floor routine and then two vaults. All of our gymnasts performed brilliantly and for some of them it was their first ever gymnastics competition, with the chance of a place at National Finals up for grabs. The standard of competition was extremely high and we are delighted that both our Mixed Team and our Boys Team finished in an incredible second place regionally. With the top two schools in each category qualifying to National Finals, it means that Russell House has two teams through to represent the South East Region at the National Finals in March. Huge congratulations to our gymnasts and thank you so much to their parents for their continued support of all the gymnastics this term and for cheering the children on during the competition.
