Go with the flow

Form 4 have begun practising their play, Ocean Commotion, this week during English and they have enjoyed performing the various songs.

There was also time to continue their Beowulf stories with imaginative quests for Beowulf to overcome on his way to capture Grendel's mother.

In maths, they have been focusing on multiplication in columns and looking at how the place value changes when multiplying by 10, 100 and 1000.

Humanities has been the introduction of Christianity and a look at its origins. The children also looked at symbols and chose symbols that they would use to represent themselves.

In science, they have begun the topic of solids, liquids and gases, and they experimented with various liquids to test their viscosity. They quickly discovered that ketchup and golden syrup flowed very slowly and didn't reach the bottom of their ramps by the end of the lesson. They will repeat the experiment next week with improvements they have discussed, to try and obtain more accurate results.
