A fun start

We hope that you have had a restful summer and are raring to go in Form 7’s final year at Russell
House.

Week one has already been a busy start back to school life. After meeting their new form teacher, Mr Shield, Form 7 received their new planners and academic books for the year. These planners are essential for the children’s push towards independence before secondary school, as they will store information such as lunch times, timetables and homework for the week.

Whilst pushing through the heatwave, we enjoyed several other events during the week, such as; our first
tastes of different subjects, an outdoors games session, many children taking the Kent Test and reacquainting ourselves with some of the other teachers.

The week ended with the Headmaster’s treat to Chessington, where children were able to enjoy a mixture of roller coasters and rides. This felt like an appropriate well done for all the hard work that they had put into preparing for the Kent Test and their school career so far. What a fun start to term!
