Like a Roman

Form 4 have loved learning a song about the Romans in preparation for a visit from Lullingstone this week.

They have been exploring musical vocabulary through song and working on rhythmic notation. They learnt a song and then worked in pairs, and later consolidated this learning as a class, to work out the rhythm to the song using rhythmic notation. They then used this song to form a game which we played with the shaky eggs. A definite test of coordination which they thoroughly enjoyed!

The visit from Lullingstone was also great fun. The children had a go at being archaeologists and carefully examined various replicas of artefacts. They had to see if they could guess what these objects were, what they were used for and investigate what they tell us about life at Lullingstone Roman Villa in its heyday.
