A busy bunch
12 Jun 2026Form 4 have had an exciting week. They have had doughnuts for Demelza, French day, a visit from Kent police and preparation for the Form 4 camp!
There has also been time for plenty of other learning though. In maths, the children have continued to focus on shape and they have been looking at line symmetry. Drawing shapes accurately on squared paper has also been part of the lessons. On Thursday, they took part in the First Maths Challenge, a tricky paper that required lots of reasoning skills.
In humanities, the children began finding out about the Maasai tribe and the beautiful beaded jewellery they make. They used paper plates to design their own pieces in the same style. They also used the atlases to look at the key physical features of Kenya.
Science revolved around the crime scene. The children tested various substances to find out their PH level after it was discovered that the strange substance on the note had a PH of 9. It turned out to be egg white so the children now have a new piece of evidence. They also took time to fingerprint their suspects, measure their shoes and collect a handwriting sample. The net is closing in!
