A strategic approach
21 Nov 2025This week, Form 5 took centre stage to lead a whole school assembly on the theme of strategy.
They explored how strategic thinking plays an important role in many areas of life, from planning ahead in homework, to tactics in sport, to clever decisions in history and even how animals use strategy in nature. They were able to show how strategy is all around us, helping us solve problems and make good choices every day.
In science, the class has been learning about the bones in the human body and the different types of joints that help us move. They’ve discovered fascinating facts, like how many bones we have, which bones are classed as long or short and how fractures can be treated and repaired. It’s been a hands-on and curious week, with lots of new vocabulary and a deeper understanding of how our bodies work.
Form 5 has been learning how to use negative numbers in different contexts. As part of this, the children used thermometers to measure the temperature of different liquids and compare them to each other by reading the scale on the side.
