We read Michael Recycle, which inspired the children to make their own superhero masks. They used their creativity to decorate them, and imagination to talk about what their powers would be. The children also practised their scissor and cutting skills in a recycling sorting worksheet, as well as their maths skills in a count and colour activity.

We have also been learning about oral hygiene. We sang songs from Hey Duggee, learned about what foods are good and bad for our teeth and what we should do to keep them healthy. This prepared us very nicely for a visit from some lovely dental nurses on Wednesday. They taught us about sugar and how to brush our teeth properly, and even dressed one child up like a dentist! 

This week we have also celebrated Modern Foreign Languages Day! Everybody looked fantastic in their outfits from around the world. In Nursery, we went on a train and learnt about lots of different countries: how to say hello, the animals that live there, the food they like to eat and listened to some traditional music.

To learn about buildings from around the world, the children enjoyed using blocks to copy the shapes of different landmarks. They also enjoyed making different flags out of Lego.

Their favourite activity on Modern Foreign Languages Day was food tasting. We tried lemons from Italy, then we tried noodles from China and lastly, we had some croissants from France. The children really enjoyed learning about and tasting different foods.
