Abracadabra!

This week Form 7 have enjoyed a very varied week of activities.
On Monday, they attended a Safety in Action event, which involved taking part in a carousel of small activities that offered advice and tools to help with keeping them safe in the transition to secondary school. Some of the activities included: learning about the dangers of water with the RNLI; understanding what is classed as a weapon with police officers; what to do in a fire with the fire brigade; age limits on apps and the reason behind them with a social media company; and an overview of why illegal drugs are illegal, including trying on ‘beer goggles’ that distort your vision and balance.

Later in the week, the children took a break from regular mathematics lessons to dabble with some Magical Maths. The children found some very clever solutions to explain how Mr Shield’s tricks worked and enjoyed being stumped, when he appeared to use magic to decide which digits were or were not in a number that had been hidden behind his back.

A final well done of the term, should be given to the cricket teams this week, who performed remarkably well against Radnor House on Wednesday. Mr Trigger was particularly pleased with the hardball team, who won their first competitive school hardball match. This was the perfect setup to Inter-House Cricket today.
Have a great break. We look forward to welcoming Form 7 back for their final half term on 2nd June.
