Building bridges

Form 2 has had a busy week, from participating in Sports Day and French Day to resuming the building of their bridges.

The children have worked extremely hard on their division facts and they played a game with a partner using their 2, 5 and 10 division knowledge. They loved playing interactive games and it has caused a lot of excitement to hit the button to beat our top scores. They also enjoyed the Form 2 shop, buying more than one item at a time and giving the correct coins.

During English, they wrote information about an animal of their choice. They enjoyed learning about different animals.

During humanities, the children learned about Alexander Graham Bell. They were fascinated with his life story and they learned many facts. The children completed a fact sheet with a friend and acted out when Alexander Graham found out he had been successful in inventing the telephone.

The children made some very impressive bridges during humanities. They constructed their bridges collaboratively and talked about their design to the class. The challenge was that the bridge had to stand up on its own and support a car.
