Seasonal changes
13 Mar 2026For Science Week, the Nursery class has been learning all about spring, the weather and all the seasonal changes.
Our book has been Little Bear's Spring, a lovely story about all of the animals a bear meets after waking up from his hibernation.
The children loved exploring our sensory seasons tuff tray, this was a great talking point to reflect on the things we have learned. We also made our own trees for each season!
Another spring activity was a nature walk around the school. The children all looked out for the signs of spring and were able to decorate their butterflies with leaves, petals and feathers that we found around the school!
The Nursery class has also been doing some gardening and planting this week. We've been practising putting on our gardening gloves and using tools like trowels and forks. The children enjoyed filling up a range of pots with compost, planting the seeds, then placing them carefully in our greenhouse. They have also been remembering to water them each day!
We have been very busy and creative when making lots of lovely things for all of the mummies to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend, from cards to bouquets, and the children all loved choosing a special present at the Mother's Day stall. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend celebrating all of the mother figures and look forward to seeing the Nursery children back next week to continue learning about spring.
