Choose respect

It's been a busy week focusing on anti bullying in Form 6.

On Tuesday, we took part in Odd Socks Day, which is supported by cBeebies presenter and ABA patron, Andy Day, and his band Andy and the Odd Socks. It is designed to encourage children to express themselves and celebrate their individuality and what makes us all unique.

During PSHE, the class made a web of respect. The children chose a name of a classmate out of a hat, then they had to write three respectful / kind things about them. They then stood in the circle, the first person on the register was given the end of the string, they said who they were talking to and their three respectful things about that person. The ball then passed to that person. They said their three things and the ball passed to the next person, but leaving the string behind. Eventually, we made a web of respect, holding and connecting them all together.

On Thursday, Form 6 presented their anti-bullying assembly to the Main School. The children had created their own role plays, which they acted out brilliantly, and they then asked the school whether they thought each scenario was bullying or not. After each one, they explained why there were or were not an example of bullying.
