Our House Captains were put through their paces by Mr McCarthy in assembly on Monday and in lessons, the children have been finding out about their new topics for the start of term.

 

 

 

 

 

There was particular excitement in maths, when the children needed to use dominoes to solve a complex reasoning challenge. Elsewhere, there was a return to fixtures for the girls, with the boys training down on the field ahead of their competitive matches next week. This week also saw the introduction of the revamped clubs offer and it has been very pleasing to see such a good uptake from pupils. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We were very proud of the positivity on show on Thursday morning before many of our children sat the Kent Test. However, their enthusiasm increased further when information about the Chessington trip was mentioned at its conclusion. This is, of course, the Headmaster’s treat for the children as a reward for all of their hard work throughout the Summer Term in Form 6 and, for many, across the Summer Holidays. The day itself was a fantastic opportunity for the children to challenge themselves and it is always good to see them encourage each other to push past obstacles. This is the first of a long list of activities put in place to make lasting memories in the children's final year at Russell House.
