Counting teeth

Science has seen the introduction of a new topic - teeth and digestion.

The children had a go at being dentists by looking at their own teeth using dental mirrors. They worked out which milk teeth they have and which adult ones are through. They then used this information to construct a bar graph.

Form 4 have been focusing on poetry this week in their English lessons. They have been writing seasonal acrostic poems, focusing on using figurative language such as alliteration and similes.

In maths, they have spent some time on coordinates and enjoyed making treasure maps and asking their partner to locate various places using the correct coordinates.

In humanities, they learnt more about the story of Boudicca and had a go at retelling the key parts of the story using a storyboard. There was plenty of good discussion as to whether Boudicca was right to fight back against the Romans and how the Romans had behaved when they took away her land.

Form 4 participated in another Modroc art workshop this week, this time creating pumpkins and birds. Their sculptures are currently drying and will be ready to be painted brightly upon their return after the half-term break. We are looking forward to seeing all their colourful creations when complete!
