Cracking the case
26 Jun 2026Form 4 have had an exciting, if slightly warm, week.
They discovered who the telescope thief was after weeks of careful forensic work during their science lessons. After examining all the evidence, the children took their findings to Mr McCarthy and presented him with their case. Mrs Semmens was duly summoned to the Form 4 classroom/courtroom where she finally confessed to the crime. Punishment suggestions ranged from 2 years in prison to chopping off an arm! But eventually it was decided that forgiveness was the best option as Mrs Semmens had looked after the telescope carefully and given it back to Mrs Carn.
In maths, the children had a chance to complete tessellation patterns. They used a range of 2D shapes and also had a go at drawing them carefully on squared paper. It was harder than it looked, but they managed to produce some excellent patterns.
The children also presented an assembly to the rest of the school about the World Cup. Each child was given two of the teams in the competition and they had to choose one of them to research. They produced a group slideshow with a range of interesting facts about their country and also explained the history of the competition.
