Designing and problem-solving
15 May 2026Form 4 have been designing and making farms during their art lessons this week. After spending time designing the separate pieces, they have started to create the 3D versions.
They have been tackling problem-solving in maths and quickly realised that the most challenging part is choosing the correct operation to use. There was time to pick apart the different questions and look for keywords and phrases. They also discussed working logically through a question to make sure they had all the possible answers or combinations.
In English, the children have begun to plan a persuasive piece of writing after initial work on when they have ever had to persuade someone and what words they might use. The children now have a free rein to try and convince others about a topic of their choice.
In humanities, the children have found out about the Vedas (the Hindu holy books) and the key beliefs of the Hindu religion. Science looked at balanced and unbalanced forces as well as completing line graphs using Google sheets.
