Dissolving and solutions

Science has been about dissolving and solutions.

The children were given the challenge of making various solutions, carefully measuring out water and then observing and recording their results.

Form 4 have been practising their play in earnest this week. They've worked hard to learn their lines and they've had great fun re-enacting battle scenes with their array of props. There has also been time for the book week quiz, anagrams proved particularly tricky, and a wonderful visit with the author Helen Peters.

In maths, the children have begun work on time. They have been making times to the nearest 5 minutes on clock faces and then accurately recording them, taking particular care with hand length and the exact position of the hour hand.

In humanities, the children looked at the Ten Commandments and discussed which of them had become part of British law. They also had fun acting out various commandments while the rest of the class had to work out which one it was.
