Environmental awareness
23 May 2025Form 6 have enjoyed the final week of this half term by spending plenty of time outside as part of Environmental Awareness Week.

During their music lesson, F6 finalised their harmony lines to some well known tunes this week and then performed them to the class at the end of the lesson.
On Thursday, we also celebrated two of our Form 6 musicians who sang brilliantly in Miss Norford's Music Assembly.
On Wednesday, Form 6 took a break from their regular maths work to experience some Magical Maths with Mr Shield. The class enjoyed the challenge of trying to work out how Mr Shield could multiply numbers by 11 so quickly, before uncovering a sneaky trick that he was using to do so. Afterwards, the children learnt about the mathematical quantity Pi. They were interested in understanding how some people could remember so many digits of an irrational number that could go on forever. The class came up with mnemonics to help them remember Pi to 10 digits.
It has been another successful half term of sport at Russell House. Huge congratulations to all of Form 6 for their excellent cricket this half term. Our athletes performed incredibly well at the ISA London South Athletics Championships on Friday, including three Russell House Form 6s winning two silver medals, a gold medal and a place at national finals. All six of our cricket teams won their matches on Wednesday and some children played their first hardball match of the season too. We now wait eagerly to see which house wins the Inter-House Cricket Tournament on Friday afternoon!
