Finding our bearings
21 May 2026Form 4 thoroughly enjoyed Humanities Week, as they had a chance to complete an orienteering course around the school.
They carefully used an aerial view photograph of the grounds to find the correct markers and then had to make a note of the letter attached.
Form 4 have been completing their persuasive writing in English and thought about the use of emotive language in order to persuade their readers. In maths, they had a visit from Mr Shield, who taught them some magic maths skills which they were excited to take home and share.
During science, the children spend time testing materials to see if they are magnetic. Although the children already knew metals attracted to a magnet, they were surprised to find a plastic board (with metal underneath) appeared to be magnetic. They then tested various strips of metals to ascertain exactly which ones were magnetic.
