Finding our routine

Nursery class have had a lovely short week back after the summer break and everyone has really settled in well.

On Wednesday, we introduced all of our new children to their new friends, teachers and our routines throughout the day. This included going to our first music lesson of the year! Ms Norford let us play on the big drum, banging the syllables of our names, as well as doing some singing and action songs.

Back in the nursery classroom, we had a construction site messy tuff tray with lots of different sensory materials and loose parts to explore. We also created some self-portraits on paper plates, looking in the mirror to identify different facial features and what makes us similar and different to each other.

On Thursday, we read a story all about emergency vehicles and how they help different people. We have also made friendship bracelets with pipe cleaners and painted cheerios, and created patterns with shapes and colours in paint to work on our maths skills. We look forward to seeing you all again next week when we will be focusing on The Colour Monster and learning all about our emotions. Have a lovely weekend!
