How can we belong?
27 Feb 2026In English, Form 6 has been discussing the concept of belonging in and relating it to their class book, The Boy at the Back of the Classroom.
They were asked: What does it mean? How can we belong? Where does Ahmet belong? Can you belong in more than one place/to more than one group? The children added their ideas to a writing frame and they then used these ideas to write a poem about belonging, using a variety of writing techniques.
Across the term in maths, Form 6 has been gradually introduced to tasks involving spatial reasoning. These tasks challenge the children to recognise patterns and visualise 2D and 3D shapes in different orientations. Recently, the class has been drawing and making cube nets in order to explore how cubes would appear from different views.
