Kent Life visit
16 May 2025Form 2 received a final letter from George, the giant. The letter thanked the children for writing to Jack. George has now received all his belongings back.
He has made friends with Jack and he went for tea with him on Sunday. George has given Jack some of his money so he is no longer poor, and he has invited Jack to the castle for tea next week. George was delighted that the children had planted the beans so very carefully.
The children have also enjoyed writing about the enchanted forest using many adjectives. Their writing was very imaginative and I would want to go there!
The trip to Kent Life was AMAZING! We arrived in plenty of time, so we walked around looking and learning about all the farm animals. We then learned about the Victorian era. This was really fun and very educational. The children have decided that they would not like to work down the mines, in a factory, be a servant or sell on the street. Form 2 then had a sheep to sock workshop on spinning and weaving. The trip ended with a bumpy tractor ride and stroking the small animals in the cuddle corner. A fun-packed trip! I must also add how well Form 2 children behaved…….. Exceptional manners as always.
In maths, the children have continued to consolidate money and they have been working on getting change from the shop. They were also constructing their bar charts and enjoyed collecting data about different flowers outside.
During humanities, we learned about rules. We discussed why rules were important and why certain places needed rules. It is inspiring to see all the children so engaged and contributing. Well done, Form 2!
