Le week-end!

At the end of last week, Form 4 learned the days of the week in French by singing songs, putting them in the correct order, and playing a game where they had to translate each day into French.

To win, they had to reach le week-end! They have moved on this week to include the months of the year and have enjoyed singing along to songs to help them remember.
In science, the children have been carrying out an experiment to see what damage different liquids do to their teeth. Despite the offer from several of the children to use their own teeth, they found out that eggshell has a very similar consistency so they have used these instead. The eggshells are currently sitting in cola, orange juice, vinegar, squash, water and milk. They will find out what happens to them next week.
Maths has been all about length this week. The children had plenty of practical experience by measuring objects around the room and then had to try and measure and draw various lines, being accurate to the nearest mm. Then it was time to practise converting between the various metric units.
