Perfect personification

Form 4 have enjoyed the excitement this week of both Sports Day and French Day.  There has been plenty of time for other subjects as well, though.

In English, they have been focusing on figurative language when writing poetry and came up with some wonderful ideas to describe a scene.  There were great examples of personification:
  • The river punches leaves down the hill and grabs bits off the river bank
  • As twilight disappears, the house closes its eyes
  • The wind howled eerily, the trees shook with fright
In maths, the children had fun completing Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams. They chose their own criteria and then went around the class to collect their data. Then there was time to discuss what they had found out about the class.

In science, they have finally tracked down the culprit of the cricket bat theft. They've looked at all the evidence and eliminated every suspect except... Mrs Tickner! Not only did her fingerprint and hair sample match, the children also found a jacket in her office that had a tear in it that corresponded with the piece of fabric found at the scene. Mrs Tickner is denying any knowledge of the crime and the bat has still not been located, but they have sent their evidence to Mr McCarthy and are awaiting a judgement.
