Preparing for the next chapter

Welcome back to the new term, which is often a time of excitement, nervousness and intrigue in Form 7.

The children have begun their final term in a typical, busy fashion with the first event of their Leavers’ Programme on Thursday. Not only was the session incredibly informative with lots of skills to take away, but the instructors also made it very enjoyable and practical for the children. Topics covered included; CPR, putting people into the recovery position and the treating and bandaging of injuries and wounds. The Leavers’ Programme continues next week with a visit from Kent Police on Tuesday, before Compass for Life come in on Thursday to discuss life goals and planning for the future with the children.

In other lessons, the children found out more about their auditions for the Summer Production (titled: Dream On) and their Public Speaking competition in English, whilst also taking part in a team selection quiz in maths lessons ahead of the national maths quiz championship next month. Form 7 also had lots of good questions to ask in Mr Plant’s humanities lessons this week, ahead of their trip to Parliament on Monday.
