Speak out, stay safe.
21 Nov 2025In another packed week, our children have been working very hard in their lessons and using practical resources to better their understanding of concepts. All whilst dodging the early arrival of the festive snow that joined us on Wednesday morning!
In maths, the class has been getting to grips with transformations. This is where a shape has its position, size or orientation altered, often through processes such as reflection, dilation or, as our theme was this week, translation and rotation. The children quickly got to grips with the use of tracing paper to help them with this work.
In French, the children been learning about directions and have been taking part in several fun activities to help them practise their vocabulary around this topic. Using a map, the children had to direct their blindfolded partner to different places within the classroom.
In English, the class has been using dictionaries and thesauruses to improve their word choices. This is often an underrated skill but Form 7 managed to crack it and use it to develop their work over the course of the week.
Finally, following on from last week’s assembly during Anti-bullying week, we were visited by a volunteer from the NSPCC, who reinforced the learning from the previous week. The class were very excited to see the mascot, Buddy, and enjoyed making fortune tellers to help them remember several of the key messages from the visit.
