Running in circles
20 Mar 2026It has been a week packed with exciting events for Form 7.
Monday was a day to celebrate drama as Form 7 were allowed to watch the Form 4 and 5 plays. As always, the standard of acting was excellent and served as a good reminder that Form 7 will be up on the staging next week as part of the Spring Concert, which takes place on Thursday evening.
This was followed on Tuesday by Form 7 delivering an assembly to the rest of the school about all of the work that they have been completing in maths this term. They enjoyed having the chance to show off lots of their pieces of work from the circle projects, which have since gone up on display in the classroom, as well as engaging their audience with some practical demonstrations. All of these speaking skills are important and have tied in nicely with the beginning of their public speaking planning in English lessons. The children have been tasked with researching a topic of their choice ahead of the public speaking finals next term.
There was further excitement on Wednesday as the school took part in the RHPA Easter egg hunt. Working in their house groups, the children needed to solve clues and race to the next part of the circuit. The first team to solve all of their clues and make it back to the start, were allowed to open their padlock and get first choice of all of the yummy Easter eggs.
Elsewhere in school, Form 7 have been practising their daily routines and telling the time in French. To make learning fun and memorable, they played a selection of digital language games as well as a lively round of Snakes and Ladders. These activities helped strengthen their memory, boost their confidence, and improve their pronunciation. It’s been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and progress. The children have also been tying up any loose ends in their Amazon projects in humanities lessons. With folders bulging, the class has worked very hard on these projects and should feel proud flicking back through the pieces of work that they have produced.
