Safety in action
12 Jun 2026As the Leavers’ Programme nears its end, Form 7 enjoyed a morning out of school at Maidstone Barracks this week, where they attended a Safety in Action workshop organised by the Salus Group.

At this event, the children were split into smaller groups and engaged with a carousel of activities under the theme of staying safe. Some of the children's’ favourites were the ones that taught them about life in the army, dangers on open water, chemicals involved in vapes and children's mental health.

Back in school, the class has been continuing to prepare for the Form 7 Production, with an increase in rehearsals and the removal of scripts. The children have also been learning about how computers use binary numbers to make codes. However, the highlight of the week has to be French Day. After sharing experiences of their time in France with the school during assembly, the boys and girls undertook some of Madame Boff’s French missions in the Hub, where they had to find answers to questions in books that were written entirely in French. Some of the Form 7’s were also invited to read a French story to younger children around the school, helping to inspire the next generation of language lovers.
Finally, a thank you to all of those that donated money to eat a donut on Wednesday. Not only was this an enjoyable change to the normal available menu, but it was also another excellent fundraising activity for Demelza Childrens’ Charity, who visited us last week. The final event of our school fundraising happens over this weekend as the team of staff set off for what looks like a very cold, wet and challenging ascent of Ben Nevis and we wish them the best of luck.
