Sound waves
21 Nov 2025In science, they loved experimenting with string telephones and they found out if the string is kept tight the sound waves will travel more effectively than a loose string.
Form 2 realised that the loose string causes the vibrations to travel all around rather than directly down the string. Wow! Very impressive! Form 2 went on a sound walk around the school and they noted down all the different sounds that they could hear.
This week in maths, the children were consolidating place value using two- and three-digit number cards. They enjoyed playing the interactive maths games on the boards and they are trying hard to improve their 2, 5 and 10 multiplication tables. The children have been adding and taking away multiples of 10. Form 2 were also working on their rapid recall for their number bonds to 10 and 20. Well done, Form 2.
During our PSHE lesson, the children acted out different emotions and they enjoyed discussing the different scenarios.
During English, the children continued to discuss the Loch Ness monster and they wrote some very interesting facts about Scotland.
The class continues to practise the play. Wow! They are getting so excited and can’t wait to perform Ralph the Reindeer!
