Space week
10 Oct 2025What a busy week, we are so proud of the nursery children after our Harvest assembly on Wednesday, where they brought out their smiley faces and beautiful singing voices!
We kicked off the week with some space-themed yoga, stretching our bodies in rocket pose, and practising balancing skills with astronaut walking, among other exercises too!
The children have also worked on their maths skills in an ordering activity. They had to cut out different sized space-themed objects and order them smallest to biggest; they all did amazing at this!
Throughout the week, we have been making our own planets with paper-mâché and we hope to decorate them next week. The children have all really enjoyed our space theme, especially our sensory tuff tray with moon sand, foil and galaxy playdough. They enjoyed roleplaying being astronauts.
Another space activity has been creating name rockets, using name cards to locate our letter squares and using these to create rockets.
Next week is our last week of this half term, and we will be focussing on the story Funnybones and getting ready for our next two performances: our Pre-Prep assembly on recycling, and our Coffee Morning performance.
