Sport report: Football

Reports on recent matches and tournaments, as written by Russell House players.

U10/11A v Hilden Oaks: The game was very even in the first half with neither team scoring a goal. In the second half, we had a bad start and they scored two quick goals. Despite us fighting back, it remained 0-2. Zach was player of the match. William

U10/11B v Hilden Oaks: We played a really good game today and we won 2-1. My player of the match was our goalkeeper because he did really well in goal and saved a few goals. Hilden Oaks were good and I had to sprint to get the ball from them. Ben

U8/9A v Bickley Park: We had a very tough game against an incredibly good Bickley Park side. They scored a handful of goals in the very first minutes and dominated the first half. We fought strongly in the second half and held them scoreless for the first 10 minutes before they scored a couple more in the last minutes of the game.

U8/9C v Bickley Park: William scored one goal whilst Rion scored a hat-trick. He was deadly in front of goal. Rowan was superb in defence for the whole match and Harry played very well in goal and saved lots of goals. Cameron also played in goal and made good saves and passed the ball well when he played in the midfield. Generally we need to pass more to each other and move into space. Rowan was man of the match. John

Sevenoaks School Futsal Tournament

The 5-a-side futsal tournament was very interesting. Although we lost all our first three games against Alleyn's, Sevenoaks Prep and Solefield, I think we just needed to get used to the new formation, because after the break we beat Sevenoaks Prep 2-0. Although we lost to Alleyn's, we were the only team to score a goal against them. We then played Solefield and drew 1-1 with a late minute goal for us. We played very well and I think we will be amazing in the next 5-a-side match or tournament. Kit
