Sport report: Football

Reports of recent football matches, as written by Russell House players.

U8B v Sevenoaks Prep: Russell House played against Sevenoaks Prep. The score was 0-7 to Sevenoaks Prep. Everybody played well, but Sevenoaks Prep school won more of the little battles. Russell House were not able to score because Sevenoaks Prep's defence and midfield was very strong. Our goalkeeper was player of the match because he was tough and he saved lots of strong goals. We had lots of fun. Cyrus

U8A v Sevenoaks Prep: We did well in attack, but our defenders kept going forward, leaving us exposed. I felt that our passing has improved, but we still need to listen to each other more. Oliver and Orson scored two goals, Oliver's was from the halfway line and was amazing, but unfortunately, the goals did not stand. We were disappointed to lose 0-3, but we will try our best to win next week. Cameron

U9A v Sevenoaks Prep: In the match it was a close game for the first five minutes. They scored, then they scored again. At half time, we went into the game knowing that we needed to change something. We had most of the ball in the second half, and Leo scored a goal, following up from Beau's effort that hit the post, to make it 2-1. From there we got on the attack, Beau went around players and scored in the bottom corner, making it 2-2. Then Jasper scored with a strike to the bottom to make it 3-2. The whole team played really well, with my player of the match being Jasper because he was everywhere on the pitch. Leo

U9B v Sevenoaks Prep: The match was very close. Sevenoaks are a very good team and Rion had a good goal at the start and in the second half. Arthur scored a winning goal and was also in goal for half the game and saved two to three shots, whilst Kit did the same when he was in goal. Kit

U10/11A v Hilden Grange: The score was 4-2 to Russell House. A great game from both teams. The goal scorers from Russell House were Harry with two goals, whilst Euan and William both scored one apiece. It should be noted that Euan scored an absolute rocket! Harry

U10/11B v Hilden Grange: We sadly lost 4-2, but it was close. We really enjoyed ourselves, we did not drop our heads, so we did not take it too deeply. Theo scored our two fantastic goals, muscling on through all the players. The match tea was lovely and we had some great conversations with the opposition. Jake
