Sport report: Gymnastics

Some of our recent successes in gymnastics events are reported below.

On Friday 6th March, our U11 Boys Team travelled to Stoke-on-Trent to take part in the Milano Team Trio National Finals. We started off on vault and scored extremely well, including our highest score of 15.6 out of 16.00, which is incredible.

We moved onto the floor and again our gymnasts performed brilliantly, securing us some impressive scores. We then finished the round with our group routine and then waited eagerly for the following round to finish to then find out the results.

After proudly entering the competition arena with the South East Team and standing for the national anthem, the results were announced.

Out of the 14 schools that had qualified to the national finals, our U11 Boys Team were crowned National Champions. The U11 Regional Boys Team from the South East (Russell House and Aberdour School) were also victorious and crowned National Champions.

One of our pupils won his first ever national title as the highest scoring boy across all the U11 categories. When all the scores across the U11 Boys Team, Girls Team and Mixed Teams were added together, the South East Region were also crowned National Champions. In our most successful national competition to date, we won four national titles. Congratulations, Russell House!

On 18th January, our U11 Boys Team and U11 Mixed Team took part in the BSGA Regional Floor & Vault Championships at Aberdour School. The U11 Boys were the reigning champions and claimed the title again, earning themselves a place at national finals. The Mixed Team also won their competition, so we returned victorious with two teams as regional champions.
