Reports of recent tournaments and matches, as written by Russell House players.

ISA U11 National Hockey Championships: We went to the Lee Valley Hockey Centre to play in the ISA National U11 Hockey Championships. In the group games, we had to play 3 teams. In the first game, we lost 1-0, but the work rate was amazing by all the players. The second game we drew 0-0 and Clara and Anya did amazing defending. The third game we drew 0-0. Our attackers had some extraordinary shots which were sadly all saved. We ended up third in our group, which put us through to the knockout stages of the Bowl competition. We had to play three more games and the first game we played St Mary's and we won 2-0. Our performance was outstanding. Our goalkeeper stayed strong, saving all their shots. The next game we won 2-0 and our attackers made great runs up the pitch. The last game was the decider to see who got into the finals. We won 1-0, with Jessica scoring an amazing goal. When we got into the finals, we kept pushing but all of our shots at goal were saved. With a 0-0 draw, it meant that we had to go through to penalty shuffles. Our goalkeeper saved all three of their shots and our first two shots were also saved. Then Alba scored the winning goal, which meant that we won the Bowl competition and we only conceded one goal all day. Well done Russell House! Jessica

U11A v Caterham: We played really well and we won 4-2. Zoey scored three of the goals and Jessica scored one goal. At the end, Jessica and Zoey got player of the match. Lucy

U10/11B v Caterham: We won and the score was 2-1 to us. Isabelle did some great defending and Isabella and Imogen scored some amazing goals. Nahla was the player of the match and overall we played a strong match and we did some good marking, but we need to make sure that we don't hit the ball into our own D. Olivia

U9B Tournament at Lingfield: We played four hockey matches. The first match was close and we won 1-0. In our second match, we played a lot better and won 3-1. We nearly had another goal, but the whistle blew for the end of the time. The third match we won 1-0 and in our last match it was very close, and we won 1-0.  Jessica, Ellie and Clara all scored excellent goals. Ela, Mullai and Modupe were all fantastic in defence, with a special mention to Ela who played really well. We were so happy because we won the whole tournament and came home with medals.
