Hockey

U11 ISA National Hockey Championships: Our U11 hockey team competed in the U11 ISA National Hockey Championships at the Lee Valley Hockey Centre in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. We won our first game 1-0 with a brilliant goal from George. We then drew the second and third games 0-0, which meant that we were undefeated in the group stages. We were also the only team in our group to win a match, so we finished top of our group and we went through to the next round. As we finished first in our group, it meant that we qualified for the finals of the Cup, where the top eight schools would play in two groups. We played in Cup A and we had three matches. We drew the first match 0-0 and this was a really tough match, where Clara had to save many shots at goal. We played two more matches and we were so close to scoring on many occasions, but with only ten minutes in a match it was tough. We drew the second and third matches, which placed us third in the Cup A group. Sadly, that meant that we did not go to the next round, as the top two from Cup A and Cup B went through to the knockout stages. This meant that we finished 5th or 6th out of 30 teams, nationally. The whole team played amazingly and we showed great teamwork. We were all very proud to be representing the school in this tournament. We were also lucky enough to meet Great Britain hockey player, Holly Hunt, who signed our sticks and match ball! Mia

U10A v Steephill: On Wednesday we had a home match against Steephill School. We won 5-0 and played well, with Georgie scoring 2 goals and Sophie scoring 3 goals. Overall, we played brilliantly and everyone played their best, especially Nandin who has worked very hard in defence against her friends from Steephill. Sophie

U10B v Steephill: We played against Steephill and in this match everyone played extremely well. In the first half, we started off with a goal which Isobel scored. In the second half, Isobel scored one more and then Georgia scored and Amelia scored. We let our guard down and Steephill managed to get a break and scored a great goal. Overall, we played very well and it was a super win for us. Well done, girls. Georgia

Football

U10/11A Triangular v Sevenoaks Prep and St Michael's: In the first match we played Sevenoaks Prep. We had most possession but not many chances and neither did the opposition. We didn't pass as well as we could have and the score ended 0-0. In the second match, against St Michael's, we started really well and our passing improved. We created lots of chances and Barnaby scored a goal. We had lots of corners and hit the post a few times, but in the last few minutes the opposition scored and the match ended 1-1. Russell House came second overall. Well played, boys. Sammy
