U9 tournament at The Hawthorns

We took part in the tournament, which included eight schools, at The Hawthorns. First, we were part of a group with four schools, and we had to play three matches to qualify to the semi-finals. We won our first match 4-0 against Copthorne, lost the second match 1-0 against Rowan Prep, and won our third match 4-2 against The Hawthorns. It meant we made it to the semi-finals! In the semi-final, we lost 3-1 to St Michael's in a close match. We then played for 3rd place against Rowan Prep, but this time it was 1-0 to us. In the end, we got the bronze medal! Eliora and Ana made some great clearances. Imogen, Mullai and Jessica tackled and passed well and there were some excellent goals from Lara, Emilia and Petra. Well done everybody. Petra

U8/9B v Hazelwood: This was an amazing match. Even though we lost, I improved on defending. The score was 4-1 and I scored the only goal. Sadie and Caer were dashing everywhere, so Sadie was the player of the match because she fell twice and kept going. For the next match, we should get into free space and call for the ball. We were all rushing for the ball and this did not always allow the ball to be passed down the pitch. Penny

U8/9A v Hazelwood: Our team was Modupe, Ellie, Ela, Isabella, Sophia, Humari and Erin and the score was 0-4. Hazelwood scored 4 goals and Russellhouse scored 0 goals. The player of the match was Ela. Next time we need to pass a bit more and make sure someone is in the D to pass to. Isabella
