Reports on recent fixtures and tournaments, as written by Russell House players.

U9 A v Walthamstow Hall: Today we played against Walthamstow Hall for our first match of the season. They won 4-2, but that didn't bring our moods down because we all had a fantastic time. Lara scored the first goal and Evelyn scored the second. This was a great first game and Emilia was player of the match. Well done to all of the team. Eliora

U10/11 A v Caterham: We all played extremely well in the match. It was a very tight game and we managed to win it in the end. The score was 13-10. Our player of the match was Jessica as she was an amazing centre, getting loads of interceptions. It was a very good game, so well done everyone. Annabel

U10/11 B v Caterham: We played against Caterham Prep and we were sadly beaten 10–2 by a strong Caterham Prep side. Caterham took control early, going into half-time with a 6–0 lead. We showed great improvement in the second half, matching Caterham more closely as it finished 4–2. Orla and Lucy scored the goals for Russell House, rewarding their team’s hard work. Despite the result, Isabel and Anya were named Players of the Match, at the end of the game for their great defence. Nahla

U10/11 C v St Michael's: The C and D team played well all together. The score was 11/1 to them, so we did lose but that does not stop us from having fun. The player of the match was Isabella. Isabella

U11 Netball tournament at Sevenoaks School:
On Wednesday afternoon, the U11 A team were off to Sevenoaks School to play amazingly at the tournament. For the first match, we played Walthamstow Hall and sadly we lost, but we played very well and Annabel and Alba scored very good goals. The second match we drew. It was a very close score. The Third match we won and we definitely earned it. We made amazing passes in all of them so we all should be very proud. The fourth match we won against Hurst. Then we got into the semifinal and we sadly lost to a very strong CHS. We definitely tried our best and finished third overall. Rosie

U8/9 A v Rose Hill: In the match we played Rose Hill school and the score was 9-0 and we won. Poppy, Clara, Ela and Evelyn scored the goals. The player of the match was Isabella. We had about 13 or 14 attempts and they had 4 attempts. They worked really hard and so did we and their player of the match was the centre. Evelyn

U10/11 A v Walthamstow Hall: On Wednesday, the Russell House A Team played a netball match against Walthamstow Hall. The team played really well, with excellent defending and some great goals. Everyone worked hard and showed good teamwork. Even though Russell House tried their best, they lost the match 29-18 to Walthamstow Hall. It was still a good performance and a match to be proud of. Imogen

U9 A v Hazelwood: The match against Hazelwood with the score at 7-0 to us. The player of the match was Ana who played very well. All of the other girls played very well too. Emilia

U8 A v Hazelwood: Russell House played Hazelwood and won 14-0. It was also quite chilly outside. Ela played goal attack and stood out as our best player and also scored 10 goals. Poppy also scored some good goals as goal shooter.  Isabella, Ellie and Clara played really well in defence and didn't concede any goals. I think we could be running into space a bit more rather than just standing still.  We also had a strong defence to build up to get us to score and to defend our netball post.  So we had a really good match... and, of course, the match tea was delicious as well! Jessica

U8 B v Hazelwood: Yesterday we had an amazing match! We won 9-0. Our sensational Sophia and Sadie did the scoring. I did the defending. I really hope we win all the netball matches. Penny

U10/11 B v Walthamstow Hall:

We played against Walthamstow Hall and won 13 - 10. Isabella played really well as centre and Amelie played really well as WA. Orla got the player of the match, but everyone was brilliant. Orla

ISA London South U11 Regional Netball Championships

We went to Lingfield to play a tournament. There were 18 teams in total and 9 teams in each group stage. For our first game we played Braeside. We played extremely well and our movement was on the spot. We can all say a great job to our new GS Rosie. Annabel and Rosie were an amazing pair. Zoey made some great interceptions. Olivia and Isabelle made some extraordinary passes. Jessica did some great runs and overhead passes to Rosie. We won 6-0. For our second game, we played Rosemead and won 7-0. We went up 4-0 in the first half and scored an extra 3 goals. Our shooting was even better than the first game we scored nearly every shot. Next we played Radnor House and we won again 10-3. Our defending kept getting better the more games we played. Then we played Western Green and we won 8-1. More overhead passes by Jessica and great runs by Isabelle and Olivia. Some more amazing shooting by our GA and GS. We played like that for the next couple of games. The scores were 12-0 against Duke of Kent and 11-0 against Pointer. Then we went on to play in the quarter-finals against The Mead. We won that game 11-3, which meant we went through to the semi-finals. We played a really good team from Sacred Heart and sadly we lost 9-4. We played really well. Then we went to the third and fourth play off and we played St Davids Prep. We won 7-4, so in the end we came 3rd. That means we are off to national finals in March! Jessica
