Taking to the stage
07 Mar 2025Rehearsals are in full swing this week in Form 4.
The children have done a great job of learning their lines and they are now practising on the stage in earnest. There has also been time for Book week activities in English though, and they enjoyed taking part in the inter-house quiz, listening to inspiring talks from two visiting authors and dressing up as their favourite book character.
In maths, they have begun work on time. They have spent a lot of time using small analogue clocks to make various times and also had a go at carefully drawing times on clock faces.
Science has been focusing on the differing melting points of various objects and which solids will dissolve in water. The children had fun discovering if they could make solutions from household items such as flour, sugar, salt and tea.
In humanities, the children learnt about the Ten Commandments. They discussed what each one meant and which ones are laws of our country, regardless of religious beliefs. They then worked in groups to choose one to act out to the rest of the class.
