The chocolate experiment

Form 4 have been experimenting this week in science.

They began by learning about solids, liquids and gases and the transition between them when they are heated or cooled. They were then asked to plan an experiment to find out the temperature that chocolate melted at. After thinking carefully about what they needed to measure and what they needed to keep the same, they set up their tests in the science lab, taking care to follow safety measures with the hot water.

In humanities, they had a wonderful discussion about places of worship as several of the children had first-hand knowledge to share. They then looked at the key features of a church and discussed its purpose.

In maths, they have been getting to grips with the challenge of bus stop division. Although it has been tricky, they have persevered well and have even been able to use it successfully to solve word problems.
