The unsinkable ship
12 Sep 2025The unsinkable ship is probably a good way of describing our Form 7’s this week, who have experienced a range of emotions in the build up to the Kent Test on Thursday.
However, like an unsinkable ship, they rallied well and persevered admirably on the day, to give the very best account of themselves possible. We now wait for the results to be shared on the 16th October.
The phrase, the unsinkable ship, of course, refers to the Titanic. The children were fascinated about this topic in their first few humanities lessons of the term with Mr Plant and have already begun to tackle increasingly moral questions, such as, Is it acceptable to make movies about tragedies? Another enjoyable moment of the week was learning a new game in maths. Totality is designed to sharpen our reasoning skills and we enjoyed trying to beat our partners!
The reward for all of their hard work in lessons and the Kent Test was a trip to Chessington on Friday.
