Time connectives

This week, the children have been writing instructions using time connectives.

They thoroughly enjoyed acting out their morning routines and putting the different steps in the correct order. The children practised writing sentences using first, then, next, after that and finally to sequence their ideas clearly. They also had fun creating their own colour poems using interesting adjectives to describe different colours.

In art this week, the children enjoyed using clay to model beautiful autumn leaves. They then painted their creations using a range of warm autumn colours. The finished leaves looked amazing and the children were very proud of their work!

During maths, the children have been consolidating their understanding of place value and learning to tell the time using o’clock and half past. They also explored what they could achieve in one minute. The children challenged themselves to balance on one leg, write their names and hop for one minute. They all persevered and were pleased to give each activity their very best try.

The children thoroughly enjoyed playing games on the interactive computer and did a fantastic job achieving a top score on Hit the Button! Well done, Form 2!

In science, the children discussed the sense of touch. They enjoyed feeling and describing different items in a feely bag. They then used their sense of touch to guess the materials hidden inside the feely boxes. The children enjoyed exploring the different textures and making their guesses.

In humanities, the children sorted pictures of the past and present into the correct categories. They also learned about the invention of the first car and enjoyed discovering how cars have changed over time.

The children learned more about their very special pet whale, Tidal. Tidal lives near Australia and we have sponsored him, which means we are able to track his movements. The children enjoyed finding out more about Tidal and where he travels.
