Connecting with nature
21 Mar 2025During the busy penultimate week of the Spring Term, Form 7 led an assembly.
The theme of the assembly was Connecting with Nature and the children spoke clearly as they presented slides that they had made themselves. No doubt, this is good practice for the Public Speaking competition next term. The children in the audience particularly liked hearing about Form 7’s ideas of activities that they could do outside of school to connect with nature, including building bug hotels, watching documentaries and taking dogs for walks. With the Easter holidays just around the corner, be sure to ask them what they spoke about, as they will have lots of ideas of things that the family could do to get outside.
What better way to connect with nature than hunting for chocolate eggs in the sunshine? Tuesday was the chosen day for the RHPA Easter Egg Hunt. Many thanks to the parents that were involved, as the children had a great time searching for clues and eggs. In a week of treats, Form 7 were also treated to the dress rehearsals of the Form 4 and 5 plays which took place this week. After watching these spectacular performances, the attention will now turn to our older children ahead of the Spring Concert on Thursday evening next week.
Finally, we played our last competitive sporting fixtures against other schools for the term this week. With the netball fixtures finishing in Week 9, the U11 boys played out two tight rugby matches against Sevenoaks Prep on Wednesday, whilst several of our children travelled to Cranbrook on Monday to take part in the mixed cross country relay event at Dulwich Prep. Our final Spring Term sporting events of the calendar will take place next week, when the chess club will take on the teachers’ team on Tuesday afternoon and our Form 5 to Form 7 children will compete in Inter-House Netball and Rugby competition.
